The importance of sport

Sports help children develop lifelong skills, provide a sense of belonging, become connected to their communities and build confidence and friendship. The HDA strongly believes every child should have the opportunity to play hockey, regardless of socioeconomic background, gender or race.

All HDA programs serve the communities that need them the most. They provide opportunities for youth in under-resourced communities that go beyond just sport, offering community engagement and job opportunities within these communities.
